Form 8879: what you'll sign

Form 8879 is the IRS e-file signature authorization. You e-sign it in your portal at the END of the process, after a licensed preparer has finished your return and you've reviewed every number. Here's the authorization text so you know what to expect.

Form 8879: IRS e-file Signature Authorization (and Arizona Form AZ-8879). By signing below you declare that you have reviewed your completed tax return and that, to the best of your knowledge, the entries are true, correct, and complete. You authorize G&G Tax Advisors, as your Electronic Return Originator (ERO), to e-file your federal and Arizona individual income tax return with the IRS and the Arizona Department of Revenue, and to enter or generate your PIN as your signature on the return. Your signature applies to the return exactly as reviewed. If any figure changes after you sign, a new authorization is required before filing.
